Your Donations Funded Letters to Every School in Two States
Wear it Purple Day has passed this year, and we wanted to give you an update about how we did. We asked you to help us fund a letter we would send to every government, Catholic, and independent school across Australia. This was an ambitious goal, and unfortunately, we did not raise enough funds to achieve it. However, we were able to send a letter to every school in New South Wales and Victoria, laying out our concerns about Wear It Purple Day and asking them to keep it out of their school this year.
Our goal for next year is to reach every school in Australia, and to target the families who don’t know the truth about this organisation. This year, we sent 5,586 letters and our team are delighted with the responses we got. With your help, we really made a difference.
The Reply That Made It All Worth It
Replies have started coming in, and one of the stand outs was this reply from a Victorian primary school Principal which is exactly the kind of result your donation helped produce:
"Thank you for your email. Please be assured that [our] Primary School does not support 'Wear it Purple Day'. I will soon be updating our child safety procedures, and I will look at adding information about this organisation to our policy, to protect our school from any future approaches. Thank you again for this important work."

The letters we sent out this year were effective, but we didn’t raise enough to send one to every school in Australia. Each letter cost us $2 in materials and postage.
