More and more parents are rightly concerned about activists using schools to promote their ideas on children. We have heard stories from the “Safe Schools” program in Victoria, to more recent stories of Kindergarteners in Adelaide being made to celebrate LGBT days.[1] However, most parents don’t know about everything that is going on in schools, and activists are becoming wiser about how they frame and market their programs.

One of the major campaigns infiltrating the schooling system right now is the “Wear it Purple” day. An innocuous-sounding name, considering what the day promotes. Wear it Purple Day is celebrated in schools, universities, workplaces, and even government buildings, where people wear purple to support the LGBT community against bullying. However, this day often acts as a pressure campaign where people who don’t wear purple stand out and are treated harshly for not participating. A similar day in the Netherlands even led to staff being fired.[2] There have been many instances of children who were bullied for not wearing purple on this day, with the bullies assuming these objectors were “homophobes” or hated trans people simply for not wanting to support their gender ideology.[3] In fact, the Wear it Purple brochures specifically mention that using a student’s biologically correct pronouns could be a form of harassment and “unlawful discrimination”.[4]

However, Wear It Purple doesn’t just want to run these days, they’ve teamed up with Twenty10, which receives millions in government funding, and the NSW Teachers Federation to push for LGBT Clubs in schools called Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) clubs.[5] These clubs allow children to explore their sexuality and gender expression without their parents knowing. The official handouts from these GSA clubs explicitly say, “Don’t discuss the attendance of the GSA with other staff, students or families. Don’t share or discuss a student’s gender identity or sexuality with other staff, students or families.”[6] Of course, they don’t want parents knowing what they are teaching these children in these secret clubs, because most parents would object to it.

Teaching children to keep these matters a secret from their parents means that children feel that they should also keep similar extra-curricular activities a secret too. One example of this was the Wear it Purple gala in 2025, where Wear it Purple encouraged children to attend by offering them free tickets.[7] Yet, this Gala exposed these children to adult sexual content with performances by burlesque/striptease dancers.[8] Why any school works with an organisation that exposes children to adult sexual content is beyond comprehension.

Nearly all state governments, including the federal Government, say that engaging in secrecy with children and exposing them to inappropriate sexual content are major red flags of grooming.[9] Yet, this organisation is trusted to run programs in over 750 schools around our country.[10]

However, the Rainbow lobby purposefully focuses on children who are easily impressionable, and use their highly active imagination to start spinning stories about how they are actually a different gender and need to keep this a secret from their parents, who may not “understand” or “approve”. These groups provide “support” to these children, often behind their parents’ backs, by providing “gender-affirming therapy”. This entails so-called experts telling these children that they are a boy trapped in a girl's body or vice versa. These GSA clubs then tell these children that they are oppressed minorities, and any bad feelings they have about living out this misconception are actually because of the world oppressing them, and they need to channel their energy into this sunk-cost fallacy of affirming this misconception, not just for themselves, but for others.

This whole process is especially sad when a large number of children who end up going through irreversible damage by injecting themselves with hormone blockers to keep up this misconception end up “desisting” or returning to identifying with their biological reality. Reports such as the UK’s Cass Review found that many of the therapies given to children have very few, if any, benefits and many long-term negative side effects, including harm to their fertility and cognitive development.[11] This review has led countries such as the UK, Norway, Denmark, France, Finland and Sweden to reverse or significantly revise their position on giving hormone blockers to minors.[12] When are we in Australia reversing this policy like these other countries have?

There are several ways to stop this indoctrination early, before the problem gets too serious. The first step is to stop these groups from getting a foothold in our schools in the first place. We need to tell schools all around Australia that we don’t support “Wear it Purple” day happening in our schools. We don’t want an organisation that hosts adult sexual burlesque dancers performing for minors at their official gala anywhere near our children.
